Meet April 2025 Pet - Jack Kennedy
Jack isn’t just any dog — he’s Herndon royalty! 🏰 Known as the official mascot of Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern, Jack loves hanging out with friends at Jimmy’s and strolling Mile 20. He’s a pro on a leash, knows hand commands, and even talks when he wants a good petting session!
If Jack had a job, he’d be my Mayor’s Assistant — and honestly, I think he might already be running the show! 😉 With his sweet talk, dreamy eyes, and a heart full of kindness, Jack has a special gift: he finds anyone who needs cheering up and stays right by their side until they smile again. 🐶💙
His guilty pleasures? Piling toys onto his mom’s bed and, of course, soaking up belly rubs! (And yes... Jack’s had a few run-ins with skunks thanks to his adventurous spirit! 🦨😂)
Jack’s dream dinner date? Me! (I'm honored!) He’s ready for a night out at Jimmy’s, Aslin, or the Breeze — anywhere good friends and good times are found.
Herndon is a happier, kinder place thanks to Jack, and we’re so proud to have him as part of our community!

Parks
Jack, our April Pet of the Month, has been busy welcoming spring in Herndon!
He made a special trip to Bready Park, where the fields are full of laughter, play, and the excitement of new Parks and Recreation activities kicking off for kids of all ages.
Summer camp registration is now open—so take a cue from Jack and get ready for a season full of fun, adventure, and sunshine in Herndon!
New Mural
Jack is not just the mascot of Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern — he’s now a work of art himself, striking a pose in front of the beautiful new mural created by the Herndon Woman’s Club behind Mile 20 and The Breeze!
A perfect Herndon moment: community, creativity, and one very good boy.
